March Camping and Sunday Drives

Please excuse this post for being so late, it just has been a crazy couple of months for us. Between finishing up a semester and moving across two states, the blog has been greatly neglected. I am going to try and catch up with all of the festivities in my next post but for now, please enjoy reading about our happenings in March.

Let see, back on March 15, a few couples from the ward invited us camping. We were a little surprised at first, because camping in Idaho, in March is not something you generally hear in the same sentence. So we went for it, took a chance. Lived on the wild side- in Idaho, none the less.

On Friday we headed off to a little place called Warm Slough. Even though the water was not warm or a slough, it was really fun none the less.

This is our campsite!

When we got there we set up camp right way.

Okay so it wasn't like intense camping, it was car camping, and if you look really hard you can see our tent behind our car.

The husbands chopped and split the wood for our campfire!

In our first hour of camping it poured rain and then we were blessed with some beautiful rainbows!

For dinner we had Mexican Hot dogs roasted over the fire.   - YUMMY!

After dinner we settled down and enjoyed the sunset and another camping favorite banana boats.

In the morning the Riddles cooked everyone breakfast. We enjoyed hot cocoa, pancakes and bacon!

We left about noon that day and went home to homework and a clean apartment. It was so fun to get to know more couples and create new friends, who we greatly miss now living in North Dakota.

A the next weekend, we were missing our beautiful Mission Mountains. So we loaded the car up and headed out on a Sunday drive. We left Rexburg and drove over to see the Teton Mountains.  They are not the Missions but they are better then what is in Rexburg. We ended our drive in the Swan Valley and enjoyed getting out of the Burg for the day!
